Welcome

We Continue . . .

To hold Services online.  Services are posted to the Church's YouTube channel every Sunday morning.  To watch the weekly service, click here.

We Are . . .
A mixture of ages, occupations, and points of view; long-time Brenhamites and more recent arrivals, life-long Presbyterians and people from other faith backgrounds. We all  need Christ's grace and we try to live by it. There is a place for you here, so please join us!

We Believe . . .
Jesus Christ is our Savior. Our church is the body of Christ, a community of forgiven sinners, saved by God’s grace, reformed and always reforming. We act on Christ’s command to love others as he has loved us and to answer the call of the Holy Spirit by saying, “Here I am, Lord, send me.”

Announcements

  • Suspension until May 31

The Session of Elders, having reviewed the section of the Governor’s report issued on 4/27/20 pertaining to Churches and Houses of Worship, has voted to extend our current program of not holding in person meetings in any of our church buildings until May 31, except and unless the Session determines that Washington County and surrounding counties have no COVID-19 cases for a 14 day consecutive period, and that it is safe to resume physical connection.

In the meantime, Sunday worship via YouTube will continue, with the audio posted separately on our website. We have also added a new audio dial-in for those who do not have access to a computer, smartphone or the internet. If you do not have this free service but need it, call our church office, and our Administrator will be glad to set you up. Indeed, our church Administrator continues to work from home and can be reached during church office hours through our usual telephone number and email.

Weekly meditations will also be made available through links to the website and the audio dial-in. We have just expanded our CCLI music license to include streaming, so that we can use more of the hymns from our hymnal in our worship services. Many thanks to our music ministry team for recording, selecting and providing the music for our worship. It is good to hear the voices of our congregation sing!

Our Congregational Care Committee continues to reach out to our membership through our Shepherds. using telephone and other means. As you heard last Sunday, our Mission and Benevolences Committee continues to support local missions—such as Bread Partners and Faith Mission—which are so vital to our community in this difficult time. Our Galilee Garden continues to provide good food to those in need, in the name of Jesus Christ. Our Finance Committee continues to collect and account for our tithes and offerings to support the ministries of our church.

Efforts are underway to expand some other activities via technology to help keep us connected. More on that as it develops. All in all, we remain the Church—Brenham Presbyterian Church—caring for one another and working with one another, even in the midst of a pandemic. We are committed to keeping our congregation physically safe, but spiritually connected through prayer, worship, and work.

May God’s grace abound as we continue to be church!
